Use AI and create a new commit

Synopsis

Use this command to generate a new commit message with AI.

MODEL SELECTION

Pass –model to override the active provider's configured/default model for this invocation only. The flag does not change saved settings. Without it, the active provider's configured model is used; GitKraken AI falls back to its backend default when no global override is set.

Run “gk ai provider show” to inspect the active provider and configured model. For GitKraken-hosted AI, “gk ai models” lists available ids and marks the backend default with *. With the GitKraken provider, –model “” bypasses a saved global override for this invocation and uses the backend default.
